Scrumptious Strawberries organic cotton designer scarf

£95.00

A limited edition organic cotton scarf, this is art you can wear.

Scrumptious Strawberries is a fruity pop art pattern I designed from my drawings of strawberry plants in the garden, with pale green and bright pink fruit on a sketchy leaf background. The design captures the feel of summer and add a pop of colour to your outfits all year round. This scarf has been specially made for people who love plants and nature and are interested in sustainable fashion.

I hand-make these in tiny batches in the UK. Large enough to be worn as a vintage-style head scarf, a luxurious hair wrap, bandana, or neck scarf, my designs have been printed on super soft and breathable organic cotton. The scarves are currently available in eight pretty floral and nature inspired patterns.

The Inkwell Design logo has been incorporated in to the design and printed on one corner of the scarf.

What makes organic cotton so special? I’ve chosen Organic Cotton to be kind to the planet, it uses 80% less water to produce than conventional cotton and feels better quality as the fibres haven't been damaged by chemicals or toxins.

Grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or genetically modified organisms (GMOs), organic cotton supports healthier ecosystems, protects human health, and promotes fair labour practices. While it may come with higher production costs, the long-term benefits of organic cotton, in terms of environmental preservation, improved soil health and reduced water consumption, make it an important material for a more sustainable future.

At Inkwell Designs we print on organic cotton to support these best practices and to be kind to the planet. I’m also researching a vegan alternative to silk, ideally organic as well, to produce a small run of scarf designs.

—————

Where does the organic cotton originate from for these scarves? I ask my printers where they source their materials from. This Certified GOTS Organic Cotton is grown and woven in China.

Nicola’s textile designs include: Nifty Penguins, Friendly Anemones, The English Riviera, Kew Gardens, Tartan Flamingos, Spring Snowdrops and Lucky Jade.
