17 July 26 I love spending time in the garden and have been enjoying the evening primrose flowers while doing some night-time watering. If you can get them to grow they come back year after year and produce lots of seeds. I also look after community planting projects and it's proving more of an effort keeping the plants alive with the lack of rain. We're moving towards more drought tolerant plants which are more suited to the Mediterranean. I organised the screening of a film about the climate emergency film last week, you can read a bit more about here, it's presented by Chris Packham and explains some of the issues and solutions with our changing climate.

We went to see the Anish Kapoor exhibition at the Hayward Gallery last weekend. We've seen his work many times including at the Serralves Museum in Porto in 2018, where someone accidentally fell down one installation called Descent into Limbo. At the Hayward the hole on the floor looks like a painted black circle but is unbelievably 2.5m deep and goes in to the holding bay below. It was interesting to hear that almost 30 years ago Anish had a similar hole not far away from the one today. Using Vantablack, a colour Anish has patented as his own, it absorbs all light and defies your visual senses. I wanted to roll a marble towards it. It's definitely worth a look.
